DEATH AND DYING
When patients are diagnosed with an illness that is terminal, they need assistance to cope with the fear of dying. They typically have anxiety over what will happen during the progression of their illness, unresolved conflicts, how their death will affect family members, guilt, and loss of control to name just a few concerns.
Many times, they need someone to validate what they already know - that they are dying. A concerned, compassionate therapist can provide a safe atmosphere whereby the patient can maintain dignity and peace while coming to grips with their dying time.
Clinical hypnosis can relieve the level of stress anxiety by teaching the patient relaxation, visualization, and imagery techniques. These techniques have also proven successful in pain management, allowing the patient to experience a higher quality of life
